Advent Ornament Knit-Along
When : Thursdays, August 6 through October 29, 6 – 8 pm
Workshop Fee : This is a FREE Knit-Along
Patterns are provided.
Supplies needed: Sports-weight yarn in different colors, US size 3-5 needles to obtain correct gauge, normal knitting supplies such as scissors, tapestry needle, etc.
To start knitting ornaments in August, may seem a little early for you but considering that there are 25 different knick-knacks in an Advent Calendar, it’ll take us through October to finish them…if we make two each week, and if we’d like to enjoy making them rather than panicking because suddenly time runs out!
This knit-along is free but you’ll have to attend each week in order to receive two new patterns for the following Thursday’s get-together, and to have plenty of time to organize your supplies.
Bringing your stash to share with others is welcomed and appreciated.
Let’s get cozy and practice enjoying a stress-free holiday season…
See you then!

Socks! Socks! Socks! They continue to be popular for many reasons. Knitting 2 at-a-time is the only way to go these days unless you enjoy repetitive sock/pattern knitting and don’t experience the much dreaded “Second Sock Syndrome” like so many of us.
Well, here’s a new twist on this whole sock craze; let’s knit a pair of socks from the toe up! We’ve done the cuff-down method and it does have its advantages but from the toe up is a technique with rewards of its own.
The Toe-Up method lets you totally customize the socks to your feet because you are able to slip them on throughout the knitting process and pretty much mold them around your foot and leg. Some patterns look better when worked toe-up. But the most popular reason to knit a pair from the toe up is the fact that you no longer have to worry about whether or not you have enough yarn for the leg length you want and finishing the foot and toe. You’ll work your foot and then knit as much leg as you want or you have yarn left over for! The guessing is over!
In this class we are working on an adult-size pair of socks. Each session will deal with another step in the pattern. Please be committed to finishing each of your “homework sections” in the designated time.
See you then!

Come in and see the Modular Diamond Scarf Model.
A couple of years ago and then again last year, some of us tried their hands at Iris Schreier's Multi-directional Scarf from her book, Modular Knits. For many, this was the introduction into the world of short rows! No picking up stitches here, just knitting, knitting, knitting!!
The diamond adds yet another twist to the family of multi-directional scarves we've tried throughout the year! It will make for a gorgeous Christmas gift, and while it looks tough and mysterious, the pattern is super EASY to work!!! You’ll love knitting it….and you’ll love the finished product!

General Info
| Regardless of indicated skill levels, all students should at least be comfortable with the knit stitch. If you are not clear about what skills are needed for a class please ask us. It is strongly suggested to purchase any materials needed prior to the first session of each class. Time is precious and classes will begin on time. Please make sure you bring all your basic knitting supplies as well as any special materials and homework to each class. While we are all more than happy to share, sometimes there is not enough to go around. Please try to attend all dates indicated for a workshop. If there is a conflict in scheduling, we will be more than happy to set up a day and time for you to come in and make up the session you missed.
Above all let's have fun knitting!
See you then, antje
