Beginning Knitting Classes

Fee: $15 per 2-hour session

When: These knitting classes are taken during any “What’s New to You Session”.

Please call to set up a day and time that works for you.

Description: If you are interested in learning how to knit, this is the place to come to! Our beginning classes are divided into three 2-hour workshops. You can take all three or pick and choose the right one for you.

Session 1: You’ll learn how to cast on, knit and bind off.

Session 2: We’ll show you how to purl, increase and decrease.

Session 3: You’ll knit in the round, applying all newly mastered techniques.

After you worked through all three sessions, you’ll be able to pretty much tackle anything you’d like to try, including scarves, afghans, baby blankets, sweaters, hats, gloves and socks!

We are more than happy to answer questions and help you along with your patterns. Sometimes, as I’m sure you know there are no quick fixes and a project needs to be dealt with step by step or even stay with us for a while. In order to give every knitter the same consideration and wonderful experience at The Knitting Nest please give us a call and set up a time when we can give you and your project our undivided attention. Thank you for understanding.

Specialty Quickies are available for $10/1 hour per person by appointment scheduled during business hours Monday – Friday, depending on availability.

Private Instruction is available for $30/2 hrs per person by appointment scheduled during business hours Monday – Friday, depending on availability.

Evening Knits

When: Every Thursday 6 to 8 pm

Cost: No Charge!

Description: Time to sit, knit and relax with fellow knitters just for the fun of it! Join us for conversation and an evening of knitting. This is strictly a non-instructional time.

General Info

Regardless of indicated skill levels, all students should at least be comfortable with the knit stitch. If you are not clear about what skills are needed for a class please ask us.
It is strongly suggested to purchase any materials needed prior to the first session of each class. Time is precious and classes will begin on time.
Please make sure you bring all your basic knitting supplies as well as any special materials and homework to each class. While we are all more than happy to share, sometimes there is not enough to go around.
Please try to attend all dates indicated for a workshop. If there is a conflict in scheduling, we will be more than happy to set up a day and time for you to come in and make up the session you missed.

Above all let's have fun knitting!

See you then,
antje
