Rosemal Mittens
Rosemal Mittens

Rosemal Mittens

WHEN: Thursdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, 11 and 18

TIME : 6 to 8 pm

FEE   : $50 (includes magazine and yarn)

Supplies to bring: Basic knitting supplies, size 8 and 9 circular needles (16” and 24”) OR DPNs.

Rosemaling, the decorative folk painting of Norway, began in the low-land areas of eastern Norway about 1750 when such upper class artistic styles as Baroque, Regency and Rococo were introduced to Norway's rural culture.

Designer Celeste Pinheiro (Knitter’s Magazine, Fall 2009) has transferred this art of folk painting to our comfort zone of knitting and created a beautiful colorful and interesting set of mittens for us to try. A little Fair Isle, a little embroidery and lots of color will keep us wanting more.

Four Thursday evenings will provide plenty of time to practice techniques and work up these one-of-a-kind mittens.

General Info

Regardless of indicated skill levels, all students should at least be comfortable with the knit stitch. If you are not clear about what skills are needed for a class please ask us.
It is strongly suggested to purchase any materials needed prior to the first session of each class. Time is precious and classes will begin on time.
Please make sure you bring all your basic knitting supplies as well as any special materials and homework to each class. While we are all more than happy to share, sometimes there is not enough to go around.
Please try to attend all dates indicated for a workshop. If there is a conflict in scheduling, we will be more than happy to set up a day and time for you to come in and make up the session you missed.

Above all let's have fun knitting!

See you then,
antje
